4. Location Data & Privacy

Your location is central to the HopUp experience. We take this responsibility seriously:

  • Friends Only: Your location and check-ins are only visible to friends you have explicitly approved.
  • Auto-Expiring: Check-ins automatically expire and are removed from the live map after a configurable time period.
  • You Control Access: You can disable location sharing at any time through your device settings or the app.
  • No Selling: We never sell your location data to third parties.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

  • Your Friends: Check-ins, location, and profile information are shared with your approved friends within the app.
  • Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, push notifications).

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Check-in history is retained for your personal use but can be deleted at any time. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except as required by law.
